The British Pre-Focus headlamp bulb holder was specified for use in virtually all headlight-equipped British motorcycles from the mid-1950s through 1977. Suitable for use with both 6 volt and 12 volt BPF bulbs. This new production genuine Lucas bulb holder is a faithful reproduction of the original design. The high beam and low beam wires feature correctly-colored sheathing and are fitted with Lucas bullet connectors. The bakelite contact plate is spring-loaded for proper bulb retention when the socket is engaged to the glass reflector. The copper ground wire loop is attached to the back of the bulb holder socket for earthing the assembly. The wire leads are attached to the leads from the lighting switch with sleeve connectors. Once the head lamp bulb is placed into the socket in the back of the glass reflector unit, the bulb holder tabs are aligned with the corresponding notches in the reflector socket and rotated clockwise to lock it in place.
