This new production genuine Lucas dual-polarity tail lamp bulb can be used in either negative or positive ground electrical systems. LED bulbs are not only brighter and more vibration-resistant than the original incandescent bulbs, but they also consume far less wattage. The bayonet-style base fits into any of the common tail lamps using the original Lucas 575209 bulb holder. The white beam projector for the running light consumes only 1.8 watts. High-output red LED chips are used for the stop light function. Vibration-resistant LED bulbs are ideal for tail lamp applications, where vibrations transmitted through the rear fender can shake a traditional incandescent bulb to pieces. Once the tail lamp lens is removed, the original bulb is pressed inward and turned 1/4 turn counter clockwise to release it from the bulb holder. The LED bulb is fitted into the socket by aligning the bayonet pins with the grooves in the bulb holder and pressing inward and turning clockwise simultaneously, locking it into place.
