This batch of 57-7021 5-speed Gearchange Quadrants from LF Harris are manufactured to a “maximum metal condition”. To optimize gear selection, a small amount of material should be machined or lightly ground off the top of the forging, directly above the plunger bores, allowing for more clearance between the quadrant body and the 57-0404 quadrant return springs.
